Youth Enrichment Services was honored as Massachusetts Promise Fellowships’s 2016 Spotlight Partner at their 4th Annual Pancakes & Partners Celebration on May 18. Through the Massachusetts Promise Fellowship, Fellows are placed with youth-serving organizations for a year of service work. Supported by the network of the Fellowship, Fellows gain experience managing programs as they grow as leaders of their own projects. YES has hosted a Mass Promise Fellow for the past three years.

Colleen Holohan, Director of Massachusetts Promise Fellowship, says, “We selected YES as our 2016 Spotlight Partner because we are impressed by the capacity that YES has been able to build in their College Prep program with Mass Promise Fellows. Over the course of our partnership, Mass Promise Fellows at YES have doubled the size of their college and career readiness program. MPF is thrilled to move forward with their partnership with YES in 2016 – 2017 as they continue to provide essential services to young people in Boston and mentorship to Fellows.”

At YES, Mass Promise Fellows spend their service year coordinating and expanding YES’s College Prep Program, providing  170+ YES teens with access to college resources every year. The YES College Prep program includes a year-long College Prep Program, a four-year College Cohort program, and two annual week-long College Tours. Read about YES’s last College Tour here.

YES will host its third Mass Promise Fellow in the 2016 – 2017 school year. The Fellow will continue to build capacity in the College Prep program and preserve YES’s record of success with college admissions – YES is proud to say that 100% of its high school seniors have graduated high school and enrolled in college for the past six years!
