Maybe he lives with his grandmother in Arlington. It doesn't matter. He's angry. And he's confused. He's had the answers for a long time. Answers from parents. Teachers. Youth Workers. Our Programs serve youth ages 7-18


YES programs offer year-round, progressive opportunities for participation, apprenticeship and leadership under the close supervision of 150 intensely involved adult volunteers and professional staff.   Youth who join YES in order to participate in outdoor adventure programs in the winter or summer often stay with us to pursue more in-depth opportunities like ski team training, volunteering as junior instructors, girls’ leadership, environmental awareness, and job training.


Each program represents the vision of YES:

  • For youth to have access to affordable, in-depth programs that challenge them through outdoor sports and experiential education.

  • For youth to build strong relationships with positive role models and take advantage of apprenticeship opportunities to build technical and leadership skills.

  • For youth to have a safe place to engage in positive activities and quality experiences that foster character development and physical fitness.
